Dustin Abbott found STM autofocus silent and extremely fast, with only a slight bit of winged stars toward the edges. OpticalLimits rated dead-center quality very good at f/1.4 — and said the borders and corners leave a bit to be desired for a lens billed as astrophotography. Buy it when the print and the receipt both matter. Skip it if edge-to-edge bite at f/1.4 is non-negotiable.
