Terms of Service

The Rules of the House, Written to Be Read.

These terms govern your use of Gavler. We've kept them as short and honest as the law allows. By using gavler.com, you agree to them — so here they are, in full, in plain English.

Last updated: July 30, 2026

The Short Version
  • Vote honestly, one account per person, no manipulation.
  • Our rankings and reviews are editorial opinion — informed and independent, but not professional advice.
  • Prices change fast. Always verify price and availability with the retailer before buying.
  • Some links earn us a commission. It never affects rankings — that promise is documented in our methodology.

1. What Gavler Is

Gavler is a product discovery platform: curated rankings, editorial reviews and verdicts, aggregated product news, and community voting. Rankings combine expert consensus with authentic community votes. The service is provided as-is and evolves continuously — features may be added, changed, or retired at any time.

2. Your Account

  • Accounts are managed through Clerk, our authentication provider. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
  • Provide accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current.
  • One account per person. The entire ranking system depends on one person meaning one vote — multiple accounts undermine the thing you came here for.

3. Acceptable Use

Gavler works because the signal is honest. Don't pollute it. You agree not to:

  • Manipulate votes. No bots, no vote rings, no incentivized voting, no multiple accounts, no automation of duels or votes.
  • Scrape abusively. Reasonable, rate-limited access that respects our robots.txt is fine. Bulk harvesting of content, systematic scraping that burdens the service, or republishing our rankings and reviews wholesale is not.
  • Abuse the platform. No attempts to breach security, probe or overload infrastructure, impersonate others, or interfere with other users' use of the service.

4. Your Contributions

Your contributions to Gavler are your votes and interactions — votes on lists (including own/want signals), duel plays, and similar activity. By contributing, you grant Gavler a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, aggregate, and analyze those contributions as part of the service — for example, showing your votes on your public profile and counting them in live rankings and aggregate results. Your votes remain yours; deleting your account removes them.

5. Editorial Content, Not Advice

Rankings, scores, verdicts, reviews, and news on Gavler are editorial opinion, produced through the transparent process described in our methodology. They are not professional, financial, medical, safety, or legal advice. Do your own diligence before making a purchase — especially for products where fit, health, or safety matter.

6. Prices & Availability

Prices, discounts, and availability shown on Gavler are collected from retailers and change constantly. We work to keep them fresh, but we do not guarantee that any price or stock status is accurate at the moment you see it. Always verify the price and availability with the retailer before you buy. The retailer's checkout price is the real one; ours is a signpost.

7. Affiliate Disclosure

Some retailer links on Gavler are affiliate links (including Amazon Associates), and we may earn a commission when you buy through them — at no extra cost to you. That revenue keeps Gavler free and ad-free, and it never affects rankings: which products appear, their order, and their scores are determined solely by expert reviews and community votes. Read the full promise in our methodology.

8. Intellectual Property

The Gavler name, site design, rankings, scores, verdicts, reviews, and all editorial content are owned by Gavler or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property law. You may link to and quote our content with attribution; you may not republish it wholesale, pass it off as your own, or use the Gavler name to imply endorsement. Product names, brands, and images belong to their respective owners and are used for identification.

9. Third-Party Links

Gavler links out to retailers, publications, and other third-party sites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, prices, policies, or practices. Once you leave gavler.com, the destination site's terms and privacy policy apply — see our Privacy Policy for how affiliate click-throughs work.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

No Warranty

Gavler is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any piece of content is complete or current.

Limited Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gavler will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits or bad purchases — arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (which, for most users, is zero). Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

11. Termination

You can stop using Gavler or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms — vote manipulation in particular gets no second warning, because it attacks the integrity of every ranking. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) survive.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction — though we'd rather you just email us first; most problems are fixable in one reply.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we do, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top; material changes will be announced prominently. Continuing to use Gavler after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
