Mop Combo vs Vacuum-Only — That's the Robot-Vacuum Decision That Actually Matters
Pa stickers and square-front photos are the wrong first question. Mop combo vs vacuum-only is the robot-vacuum decision that actually matters — then dock, profile, and pets. Shop Gavler's live ranking.
Most robot-vacuum shopping starts in the wrong place. A 36,000 Pa hangtag, a square-front hero shot, and a dock the size of a nightstand are how retailers sell the category. The decision that actually matters is architecture: a mop combo that washes its own pads, or a vacuum-only machine that actually pulls carpet — then whether the dock empties itself, whether the chassis fits under the sofa, and whether a stick vac should have been the purchase.
Get that split wrong and you own a $1,700 combo that cannot climb the threshold in a 1920s hallway — or a carpet specialist you keep asking to mop.
The live ranking is on our Best Robot Vacuums list. Use this page to pick a lane, then buy from that list. The community ranking story is in The Best Robot Vacuums in 2026. ECOVACS is running a launch window on a machine that is not on this list yet — that clock is in the DEEBOT X12S OmniCyclone deal.
Buy a mop combo if hard floors are most of the house
A combo is a vacuum that also mops, then a dock that washes the pads so you do not. If the floor plan is hardwood, tile, and a few rugs, this is the lane. If the house is wall-to-wall carpet, skip it — that is the Dyson.
The default flagship is the Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete: 3.13-inch ultra-slim, 35,000 Pa, dual AI cameras that claim 280+ object types, 6,400 mAh, 55 dB(A), Matter / Alexa / Google, and a dock that washes mop pads at 212°F. About $1,700. Currently first. Buy it when one machine has to disappear under the sofa and still leave the kitchen pads sterile. Skip it if door thresholds, not furniture clearance, are the daily failure — that is the Saros 20.
The imperfect-home flagship is the Roborock Saros 20: AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0 over 3.46-inch transitions, StarSight 2.0 at 21,600 points and 300+ obstacle types, 36,000 Pa, 13N mop pressure, 212°F wash and 131°F dry. About $1,600. Currently second. Street prices have sat nearer $1,390. Buy it when rugs, mixed flooring, and old thresholds strand every other bot. Skip it if the house is already flat and you wanted Dreame's 3.13-inch sneak.
The corner argument is the ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Omni: D-shaped chassis within 30mm of corners, OZMO Turbo 2.0 chenille pads, 8,000 Pa, 210-minute runtime, 0.6-inch mop lift, OMNI dock that empties, hot-washes, and dries. About $799. Currently fourth. Suction trails the Pa arms race on purpose. The square body can snag tight furniture gaps. Buy it when kitchen corners are the complaint. Skip it as a cheaper Dreame — different geometry, different Pa.
The balanced hybrid is the Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Pro: 25,000 Pa, dual pads fed by 60°C onboard water, 100°C dock wash, 4 cm obstacle clearance, 3.1-inch effective height. About $1,350. Currently fifth. That is flagship maintenance without Saros-20 or Dreame freight. Buy it when vacuuming and mopping both have to be real. Skip it if you needed 3.46-inch climbs or a 3.13-inch sneak as the headline.
SmartThings-native: the Samsung Jet Bot Combo AI. 3D mapping in the Samsung app, 170 rpm dual pads, All-in-One Clean Station with 212°F steam and 99.999% fine-dust containment, 3.5-inch clearance. About $1,400. Currently sixth. Buy it when the house already runs on SmartThings. Skip it as a standalone cleaner — navigation and suction trail Dreame and Roborock.
Saros DNA without the 20's lift tax: the Roborock Saros 10R. FlexiArm Riser side brush, 70°C mopping, 80°C dock wash, 22,000 Pa, 3.14-inch profile, DuoDivide anti-tangle brush, 6,400 mAh. About $1,400. Currently tenth. Buy it when edges and pet hair wrapping are the job and the hallway is not a staircase of transitions. Skip it if the 20's chassis is why you came.
Midrange combo with a different bin story: the 3i G10+. 18,000 Pa, ApexVision dToF for 128+ objects, 10mm mop lift, ultrasonic carpet sensor, onboard compression into a 1-liter bagless bin for 60 days. About $400. Currently ninth. Buy it when you want mop lift and two months between empties without a closet-sized bag dock. Skip it if you wanted 212°F pad hygiene — that wash is not this machine.
Buy vacuum-only if carpet is the job — or the home is small
Mop hardware is weight, water, and a dock you have to plumb with tanks. If you already mop, or the floor is carpet, pay for suction and a brush bar.
The carpet specialist is the Dyson 360 Vis Nav: category-leading suction, 11.8-inch full-width bar with a side duct into the baseboard, 26-sensor 360° vision, 65-minute runtime, whole-machine HEPA to 0.1 microns. About $1,200. Currently third. No mop. Simpler dock. Buy it when embedded carpet dirt is the product. Skip it if you wanted pads — there are none.
The apartment vacuum is the SwitchBot K11+: 3.6 inches tall, 9.8-inch diameter, 6,000 Pa, 45 dB quiet mode, 4L antibacterial bag for about 90 days, native Matter / Apple Home / Alexa / Google. About $400, often nearer $269. Currently seventh. Buy it when the dock has to fit a closet and the robot has to run during a call. Skip thick carpet — 6,000 Pa is hard-floor and low-pile math.
The budget auto-empty is the Eufy C10: 2.85-inch chassis, 4,000 Pa, 600 mL onboard bin, 3L station for 60 days, point-laser plus multi-infrared, extending side brush. About $350, often nearer $220. Currently eighth. Navigation bumps furniture. Carpet performance is the price. Buy it when set-and-forget on hard floors is the job and $1,700 is a different purchase. Skip it as a Saros substitute.
Dock class is the second question — empty, wash, or compress
A robot you empty after every run is a Roomba you will unplug.
212°F wash + auto-empty (combo flagships): Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete, Roborock Saros 20, Samsung Jet Bot Combo AI (steam).
Hot wash, not quite boiling-pad theater: Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Pro at 100°C dock / 60°C onboard. Roborock Saros 10R at 80°C dock / 70°C mop. ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Omni OMNI — empty, hot-wash, dry — at the $799 sticker.
Auto-empty, no mop spa: Eufy C10 (3L / 60 days). SwitchBot K11+ (4L / 90 days).
Compress onboard, skip the bag closet: 3i G10+.
Vacuum-first, Dyson dock: Dyson 360 Vis Nav. The machine is the suction. The dock is not a laundry.
Do not buy combo money and then cheap out on a dock that leaves wet pads in a sealed box.
Thin profile vs lift vs a brush that reaches the wall
Under-furniture dirt and door thresholds are different failures.
Thinnest sneak: Eufy C10 at 2.85 inches. Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete at 3.13. Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Pro at 3.1 effective. Roborock Saros 10R at 3.14. SwitchBot K11+ at 3.6 — short and narrow.
Thresholds and thick transitions: Roborock Saros 20 at 3.46 inches. Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Pro at 4 cm.
Edge geometry, not height: ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Omni square front to 30mm. Roborock Saros 10R FlexiArm. Dyson 360 Vis Nav 11.8-inch bar plus side duct.
A slim flagship that dies on a threshold is the wrong slim.
Obstacle avoidance and pet hair are why the robot finishes the run
Mapping is table stakes. Eating a charging cable at 2 a.m. is the support ticket.
Camera / structured avoidance at the top of the list: Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete (280+ types, cables, socks, toys). Roborock Saros 20 (300+ types, StarSight 2.0).
Solid midrange eyes: 3i G10+ (128+ types, 39-foot dToF). ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Omni recessed LiDAR. Samsung Jet Bot Combo AI wider LiDAR map.
Good enough, will bump: Eufy C10. That is the $350 contract.
Hair that does not wrap the roller: Roborock Saros 10R DuoDivide. SwitchBot K11+ tangle-resistant roller.
Carpet extraction plus sealed HEPA: Dyson 360 Vis Nav.
If the floor is a toy box, buy avoidance before you buy another 5,000 Pa.
Flagship money vs the $400 machine that actually gets used
Pay $1,600–$1,700 when the house is the constraint: Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete, Roborock Saros 20.
Pay $1,350–$1,400 when you want 90 percent: Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Pro, Samsung Jet Bot Combo AI, Roborock Saros 10R.
Pay about $799 when corners plus an OMNI dock are enough: ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Omni.
Pay $350–$400 when the home is small or the habit is the risk: SwitchBot K11+, Eufy C10, 3i G10+.
Pay $1,200 when mopping is a feature you will never use: Dyson 360 Vis Nav.
A launch markdown on a SKU that is not ranked yet is a different decision. Read the X12S OmniCyclone deal through September 11, then buy from the live list anyway. If the FCC headline is why you froze, the robot-vacuum FCC Brief is the pipeline story — authorized list models stay for sale.
When a stick vacuum is the honest machine
A robot is daily floors. A stick is stairs, the couch, the car, and the one deep clean you still do.
If that is the job, leave this list and open Best Vacuum Cleaners. The cordless default is the Dyson V15 Detect Absolute (about $749). The cheaper smart stick is the Shark PowerDetect IP1251 (about $449). The lighter Dyson is the Dyson V12 Detect Slim (about $558).
A robot will not climb the stairs. A V15 will not wash its own mop pads. Most households that can afford a flagship combo still keep a stick. Those are complementary, not rivals.
Then shop the list
Pick combo versus vacuum-only, then the dock, then the chassis. Then open Best Robot Vacuums and buy the highest-ranked machine in that lane.
Default combo flagship: Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete. Thresholds: Roborock Saros 20. Carpet, no mop: Dyson 360 Vis Nav. Corners: ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Omni. Balanced hybrid: Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Pro. SmartThings: Samsung Jet Bot Combo AI. Quiet apartment: SwitchBot K11+. Budget auto-empty: Eufy C10. Bagless 60-day bin: 3i G10+. Saros edges without the 20: Roborock Saros 10R.
Do not buy the one with the loudest Pa sticker.

Common Questions
Buy a mop combo if hard floors are most of the house and you want daily vacuum-plus-mop without a second machine: the Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete (35,000 Pa, 3.13-inch chassis, 212°F mop wash, about $1,700), the Roborock Saros 20 (36,000 Pa, 3.46-inch threshold crossing, 212°F dock, about $1,600), the ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Omni (square front into corners, about $799), the Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Pro (25,000 Pa plus 60°C onboard mop heat, about $1,350), the Samsung Jet Bot Combo AI (SmartThings plus a 212°F steam dock, about $1,400), the Roborock Saros 10R (FlexiArm edge brush, 70°C mopping, about $1,400), or the 3i G10+ if you want a midrange combo with a 10mm mop lift (about $400). Buy vacuum-only if carpet is the job or you already mop by hand: the Dyson 360 Vis Nav (full-width 11.8-inch bar, HEPA 0.1 micron, about $1,200) is the carpet flagship; the SwitchBot K11+ (3.6 inches, 45 dB, about $400) and Eufy C10 (2.85 inches, 60-day auto-empty, about $350) are the compact vacuums. Architecture first. A Pa hangtag does not put a mop on a Dyson.
For most mixed-floor homes that want one machine to vacuum, mop, and wash its own pads, the Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete — 3.13-inch ultra-slim, 35,000 Pa, dual AI cameras for 280+ object types, 212°F hot mop wash, about $1,700. It currently leads Best Robot Vacuums. Thresholds and imperfect transitions: Roborock Saros 20. Carpet, no mop: Dyson 360 Vis Nav. Corners on hard floors: ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Omni. Hybrid without flagship freight: Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Pro. SmartThings: Samsung Jet Bot Combo AI. Apartment quiet: SwitchBot K11+. Budget auto-empty: Eufy C10. Bagless 60-day bin: 3i G10+. Saros DNA without the 20's lift tax: Roborock Saros 10R. Confirm the live community ranking before you buy — votes move.
Self-empty is the feature that turns a robot into an appliance you forget. Hot-water mop wash is the feature that keeps a combo from smelling like a wet rag. Full 212°F wash-and-empty docks on this list: Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete, Roborock Saros 20, and Samsung Jet Bot Combo AI (steam plus 99.999% fine-dust containment). The Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Pro washes at 100°C with 60°C water on the pads. The Saros 10R docks at 80°C and mops at 70°C. The ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Omni OMNI dock still auto-empties, hot-washes, and dries — that is why $799 is the value combo, not a toy. Vacuum-only auto-empty without a mop spa: Eufy C10 (3L, 60 days) and SwitchBot K11+ (4L bag, 90 days). The 3i G10+ skips a giant bag dock and compresses debris into a 1-liter bagless bin for 60 days. A charging puck with no empty is how robots die in the closet. This list does not rank that puck.
Buy thin if the dirt lives under the sofa and the bed: Eufy C10 at 2.85 inches, Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete at 3.13 inches, Qrevo Curv 2 Pro at 3.1 inches effective, Saros 10R at 3.14 inches, SwitchBot K11+ at 3.6 inches. Buy threshold crossing if a 1920s house, thick rugs, or 3-inch transitions eat every other bot: Roborock Saros 20 at 3.46 inches of AdaptiLift, or Qrevo Curv 2 Pro at 4 cm. Buy raw suction if carpet is the product and mopping is not: Dyson 360 Vis Nav, twice the category-average pull with an 11.8-inch full-width bar. The Dreame and Saros 20 also hit 35,000–36,000 Pa, but they spend the chassis on slim-plus-combo or lift-plus-combo. Do not buy a 3.13-inch flagship to climb a threshold it was not built for, and do not buy a Dyson to wash mop pads it does not have.
Pet hair is a brush, a bin, and whether the robot eats the toy. Tangle-resistant on this list: Roborock Saros 10R DuoDivide (zero-tangling main brush) and SwitchBot K11+ (tangle-resistant roller, 90-day bag). Obstacle avoidance so the leash and the sock survive: Roborock Saros 20 (StarSight 2.0, 300+ types), Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete (dual AI cameras, 280+ types including pet toys), 3i G10+ (dToF, 128+ types). Carpet pull: Dyson 360 Vis Nav, then the Dreame and Saros 20 Pa numbers. Allergy filtration: Dyson is the only robot here that meets a whole-machine HEPA 0.1-micron claim. A 4,000 Pa Eufy will maintain hard floors; it will not replace a V15 on a shedding carpet. Confirm the live ranking — the pet-hair filter tag moves with votes.
Buy flagship if you want the robot to finish the house without a rescue: Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete (about $1,700) or Roborock Saros 20 (about $1,600, often nearer $1,390). That money is slim-plus-212°F-dock or threshold-plus-212°F-dock, not a prettier app. Buy the mid-flagship hybrid if you want 90 percent of that without the last inch of lift or slim: Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Pro (about $1,350), Samsung Jet Bot Combo AI (about $1,400) if SmartThings is the house, Roborock Saros 10R (about $1,400) if FlexiArm edges matter more than 3.46-inch climbs. Buy the value combo if corners and an OMNI dock are the job: ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 Omni at about $799. Buy compact auto-empty if the home is small: SwitchBot K11+ (about $400, often $269), Eufy C10 (about $350, often $220), 3i G10+ (about $400). A $1,700 Dreame in a studio is a closet you paid extra to fill. A $350 Eufy in a threshold-heavy house is a stranded brick.
Buy a stick if the job is stairs, upholstery, a car, a visible laser on hard floors, or a weekly deep clean a robot will never replace. Start on Best Vacuum Cleaners: Dyson V15 Detect Absolute (about $749) is the cordless default; Shark PowerDetect IP1251 (about $449) is the cheaper smart stick; Dyson V12 Detect Slim (about $558) if the V15 is too heavy. Buy a robot if the job is daily floor maintenance you will skip when you are tired. A robot does not do stairs. A stick does not empty itself for 60 days. Most pet homes that can afford both still want the robot for Tuesday and the stick for the couch. Do not buy a $1,700 combo to replace a V15, and do not buy a V15 to mop the kitchen.
Not blindly. Through September 11, 2026 the X12S is $999 on Amazon against a $1,299.99 MSRP — then it steps to $1,099.99. That machine is not on Gavler's live Best Robot Vacuums list yet. The ranked ECOVACS on this list is the DEEBOT X2 Omni at about $799, already voted fourth. Cross-check the launch SKU against the live ranking and the X12S deal Brief. A $300 cut on an unproven flagship often loses to a deeper markdown on a Dreame, Roborock, or the X2 you can already see at #4. The FCC pipeline freeze is also not a reason to panic-click a press-release model — authorized list picks stay legal to buy.
